Patsy Cline, “Walkin’ After Midnight” (1957)

I am late, perhaps, to this party, but thanks to Paul Brady for the link to a version of a favorite song I’ve never seen before.  Patsy Cline sings “Walkin’ After Midnight” in a film clip dated 1957.

Virginia Patterson Henley of Winchester, Virginia abbreviated her middle name and used her surname from her first marriage professionally when she began to record in 1955.  Donn Hecht and Alan Block wrote “Walkin’ After Midnight” two years later, and it made Cline a star on both the country and pop charts at the age of 25.
