So this is one of my favorite photos from the entire year. I had gone to Los Angeles to photograph the annual Los Lobos Cinco de Mayo show at the recently renovated Regent Theatre in Downtown LA. On this evening Dave Alvin and Phil Alvin with the Guilty Ones were opening the show, which couldn’t be more perfect! I got down to the venue early so I could just hang out and catch the goings on and as Dave and Phil were finishing up an interview in the back alley, I asked for a quick photo. I took several photographs that are pretty neat, but this one stood out. Later in the year I gave Dave and Phil a print of this image.
