James White, founder of the Broken Spoke, sang at the fifth Don Walser reunion tribute Jan. 20, 2015 in Austin. White opened the Broken Spoke in 1964 when it was located more than a mile outside the city limits. Walser began performing at the Broken Spoke in 1994 when he was 60 years old and died in 2006.
