Julie Christensen says Happy Birthday, ND!
Julie Christensen’s incredible musical journey includes being an integral part of the L.A. Post-punk band Divine Horsemen with her then husband, Chris Desjardins, singing back up with Lou Reed and Leonard Cohen (with who she toured as a featured back up singer from 1988-1993), and she is now an East Nashville resident and heading up a new band called Stone Cupid.
Stone Cupid is a true East Nashville super group – featuring guitarists Chris Tench and Sergio Webb (David Olney), bassist Bones Hillman (Midnight Oil), and drummer Steve Latanation (Agent Orange). They were invited to be one of the last acts to play the legendary Family Wash before it was relocated in February.
The new album which is set for a Pledge Music Pre-Sale on May 13, is expected to be available for pre-orders in July and available in the Fall. Along with Christensen’s own songs, the album will include a cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Anthem” and contributions by Chuck Prophet, Kevin Gordon, and Dan Navarro.
