Tift Merritt had a mighty fine back-up band for her Walker Center performance at Merlefest

Tift Merritt performed at Merlefest before starting out on a worldwide tour in support of her new Yep Roc Records release “Stitch Of The World.” Honestly got the feeling this must have been what it was like to see Crosby, Stills and Nash at the Fillmore East do an acoustic set. It was that good! Sure hope someone put it down on tape somewhere. Plans have firmed up for a return to North Carolina in August for a “Rolling Thunder Review” type concert featuring regional artists playing together with Tift Merritt that will include M. C. Taylor (Hiss Golden Messenger), Eric Slick (Dr. Dog, King Crimson & Lithuania), Alexandra Sauser-Monnig (Mountain Man) and Matt Lorenz (The Suitcase Junket) among others.
