Pickled everything…Bloody Marys Tour Blog part 2
We spent last night (Saturday May 15th) in Fremont at the beautiful old church known as the Fremont Abbey sharing the stage again with Kasey Anderson and our good friends Sadie and The Crooked Road for a night of acoustic music. Unlike most acoustic shows we’ve played in the recent past, last night we were joined with the other two members of the laughing dogs. Travis used brushes while Keith played bass out his Carvin 10 inch. Justin and I, of course, were on acoustic guitars.
But before the show, we all headed down to Dad Watson’s for a bloody mary. The atmosphere was that of an Irish pub in the least Irish part of town, and the only thing missing from the menu was a special jack daniels sauce. We ordered six bloody marys. They arrived topped with pickled asparagus, pickled garlic and an olive. That would prove to be the highlight. Lacking in the spice and vodka department, they tasted more like a thick can of V8. Tabasco was needed. On the upside, the jukebox appeared to have a great selection of music.
