Pigeon Holes & Dogma
“Pigeon Holes & Dogma”
When one is not of “sound mind” all terms can constrain as much as they describe. The term AcoustiCana is not appropriate to describe any musical artist or his work. Artists rebel, as they should, against being pigeon holed or required to follow (or pigeon toe) the line of any form of artistic dogma.
The term AcoustiCana is designed for fans to recognize a type of music they like: As straight up, straightforward, clean, organic, natural, and green as possible. Music where as little gets in the way of the artistic expression as possible… with as short a distance as possible between them and the creator of the work. So in many ways, that means music that is whole food, whole grain, organic and natural, free of as many pollutants as possible.
Electricity is a mighty usefull thing and everything at some stage is probably plugged in or at least needs EverReady.
We use the term to describe the “simplicity” above and beyond the complicated.
“Simplicity is the final achievement. After one has played a vast quantity of notes and more notes, it is simplicity that emerges as the crowning reward of art.” ~ Frederic Chopin
And while as human beings we do need words rather than grunts to express our affection for a certain genre of music and artistic creation…
