A few things have come and gone from the homepage here, and I just wanted to drop a quick note to draw your attention to our newest features.
1. No Depression Listening Club. This is a monthly activity in which everyone is welcome to participate. Think book club meets listening party (meets the internet). Our first suggested album is Wilco’s Sky Blue Sky and discussion about its merits has already begun. Community member Scott Porad posted a blog about the disc. Please feel free to also blog about it, comment on Scott’s post, or take it to the forum. The whole point is to gather together around a specific record and then discuss. We’ll be choosing a new album to discuss in July – your suggestions are welcome. Enjoy!
2. List of the Day. Every day I’ll be polling our Twitter followers and Facebook friends to find out their top three picks in a particular area. I’ll choose one person’s list at random and feature it in the List of the Day box on the left column, directly under Latest Activity. If you’d like your list to be featured, you should join us on Twitter (@nodepression) or Facebook (Nd Nodepression). We’d love to have you.
3. Community Spotlight. This has been around for a few weeks, but it bears repeating. Featured in the center column, this box highlights your blogs, videos, and photos. A new community member is spotlighted every day. You don’t have to submit yourself or win any contest to be spotlighted. All you have to do is share something with the group. I’ve always got my eye on what’s new to the site, and will be featuring the best content every day in the Community Spotlight box.
