Since Indie Has Become Adult Contemporary…
Since I spilt my time between NYC and Durham, NC, I’ve been meaning to start a blog somewhere to write about all the music I see. I am doing that. Eventually this will have original content. But today a friend pointed me to an article on NPR’s site called “Has Indie Become Adult Contemporary.” It got me to thinking. The problem is the word Indie means so many different things to so many different people. I see self labeled “indie” bands all the time who sound like classic rock. And I see self labeled “folk” bands that I would call Indie. At the end of the day its just a label. So who cares? Come on NPR. Why you got to be so geeky?
