Johnny Rawls – Remembering O.V. – a special tribute to one of the best
Leo Welch – Sabougla Voices – the missing link of Gospel to Blues and he has the spirit
The Claudettes – raucous piano blues
Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience – the Dockside Sessions the most expressive voice in Zydeco
Trampled Under Foot – Badlands – tho young they kick butt and have the blues
Willie Sugarcapps – Willie Sugarcapps – they can do it all
Landstrom – Land of Nowhere – this appeared out of nowhere and reminds me of a dark winter night in the far north – heavy and moody with some sunshine
Oxford American Magazine – in their Southern Music Issue has a double CD of Tenneessee music that spans the known and unknown and as well as being good has some great writing – grab a copy
