Song Premiere: Benyaro “That’s The Way Things Seem To Go”
Benyaro — the indie roots project of seclusive Jackson Hole, WY musician who’s worked with such artists as Gary Clark Jr., Brett Dennen and Shovels & Rope — recently announced the release of his third original full-length album, One Step Ahead of Your Past. Produced with Danny Kadar (The Avett Brothers, My Morning Jacket) and recorded at the legendary Echo Mountain Recording and Ben Musser’s home studio in Wyoming, One Step Ahead of Your Past is “a deeply personal collection of tunes from a period in which I became a husband and a father,” with songs that explore the profound, vibrant, and mundane with humility and humor.
Multi-instrumentalist Musser c
“Don’t need no one’s permission
To head your own club
Don’t wait for no one’s blessing
To chase the things you love”
Musser had this to say about the track, “Inspired by the realization that life is a long, winding journey with no easy roads. One is never protected from life’s twists and turns or ups and downs, no matter how fast you run, or no matter the direction. Knowing that, each time life knocks you down, you may as well get back up and keep following your dreams.” Stream the song in its entirety above.
