SONG PREMIERE: Sara Rachele Questions Lost Love on “Change Your Mind (You Should Be Mine)”
Indie-chanteuse Sara Rachele is prepping to release her digital 7-inch this Friday, June 2nd. The duo of songs features a cover of Cracker’s “Low” as well as her new single “Change Your Mind,” a singer-songwriter ballad with echoes of 50’s du-wop girl groups combined with indie-folk-rock attitude.
Drawing you in with a church-like organ, “Change Your Mind” segues into a throwback melody highlighted by keys and strings that is complimented by Rachele’s sweet coo taking the listener on an emotional journey from her hometown of Atlanta to New York City’s East Village, wistfully questioning the possibility of long distance love and what would happen if fate was altered by taking different paths.
“Not about to wait here for you with my blue heels on in Atlanta/Grew up on this street it’s my home you’re turning down/Writing on the walls in each bathroom stall means everything to me like a history/I can’t expect you to understand, you say you’re leaving go go go/Say you wanna but I think you don’t.”
No Depression is pleased to premiere “Change Your Mind.” Stream the track in its entirety below.
