Hi guys
We all know that song writing/composing is a skill that is honed over many years and a lot of rubbish has to be cut to find the good stuff. However, there are days, few and far between in my case, but there are days when inspiration strikes and something gets created in an instant. I had one of those days yesterday.
I used to do a lot of yoga but since writing and recording my debut album as a solo artist I didn’t do any, until the day before yesterday (Saturday). On Saturday I did my first yoga session in about a year. Now I don’t want to get all mystical or spiritual on you all, but the session certainly put all my bits back in their right place.. mentally and physically. 1 year of obsessing over the album, bad posture, humped over a computer or guitar, late nights, early mornings.. it takes it’s toll on body and mind. So then I woke up yesterday with renewed energy and vigor, picked up the guitar to practice for a gig I have coming up and my fingers took over. A piece of instrumental guitar music just wrote itself. I played it twice through to make sure it sounded good, then broke out the mics and video camera to capture this spontaneous moment to share with my friends/fans.

This has now spawned the idea of doing an instrumental guitar E.P. for digital release. The muse stuck and I’m going to ride the wave it has sent me. I’ll keep you all informed as to what happens.
