On his new album, Invisible Pictures, Jeremy Ivey sheds some previous insecurities and accepts being himself. It’s fitting, then, that one of the loveliest songs on the album, “Trial By Fire,” offers gentle encouragement to listeners to likewise let their real selves shine, even when it’s hard.
As he explains in the video below for No Depression readers, “Trial By Fire” was born the morning after a fireside chat with his wife, Margo Price, as she considered quitting drinking but worried she might lose friends in the process.
“It’s kind of a statement of be who you are and everything else will kind of take care of itself,” he explains.
