Just like Oklahoma!, the famous musical that inspired it, Kaitlin Butts’ new album, Roadrunner!, has moments of fire and moments of sweetness, key ingredients of any good love story.
“Come Rest Your Head (On My Pillow)” is absolutely a high point in sweetness, an invitation for a lover to find a moment of peace, however fleeting for everyone involved.
On the album, Butts is joined on the song by fellow Oklahoman Vince Gill, but in this video exclusively for No Depression readers, she’s singing and playing alone in a stairwell, leaning into the loneliness the song implies is coming soon.
