Telluride House Band, Goodnight and Goodbye!
The Telluride House Band is about to take the stage here to wrap up the 2009 Telluride Bluegrass festival. I’ll try to get a couple of shots posted. The House Band is an all-star lineup of Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, Jerry Douglas, Edgar Meyer, Luke Bulla and Bryan Sutton.
We’ve been consolidating and packing up parts of camp this afternoon in order to load out in the morning. In addition to blogging, I’m also a member of what was a 5 member camp- our ranks have swelled to 9 during the course of the festival. Part of the experience here is meeting new folks and forming new friendships- I’ve been fortunate to be a part of that, also.
It’s been a pleasure and an honor to be able to be here and to get to blog this event for No Depression. This is a special event in a special place and this is an experience I’ll remember for the rest of my life. Thank you No Depression for the opportunity and thanks to Planet Bluegrass for the hospitality they’ve extended.
I’ll probably do a couple more posts after returning home to Albuquerque tomorrow. There just hasn’t been time in the day to blog all the things I have wanted to and I’ve got some notes and info that I’d still like to share with the community.
If there are any questions that any of you have that I might be able to answer, please don’t hesitate to ask. I genuinely adore this festival and am glad to share what I know.
Thanks.
I headed out after the band had started and lucked into a front row seat in front of Bryan Sutton. I sat there enjoying the show and shooting lots of pics, unfortunately it doesn’t leave me time to post them. I took 119 shots.
I’ll post some of the best in a day or two. IOU.
The 25th anniversary is apparently the sheep anniversary. At least that’s the barnyard animal that Jerry Douglas was presented with tonight to commemorate his 25th here at Telluride.
Goodnight!
