The 2010 RIP List…to be continued
Well this isn’t the bright and cheery blog post I was hoping to do today. I was actually searching around looking for a definitive list of all 2010 album releases so I could come up with my Top 20 for the No Depression end of the year readers poll. Somehow, I clicked here and clicked there and than landed on a Wikipedia page that gives the list below. And it’s not even current…deaths of musicians only through October.
What surprised me about this was how long it is. And how young so many of these people were. There is a story to be told or heard for everyone one of these folks. They no doubt left behind family, friends and fans. And great stories and memories. And music of course.
The reason I’m taking the time to share this is simple: as you look through the names you’ll (if your like me) see one or two, be surprised because you hadn’t heard, and than go off to search for some of their music to listen to. It seems to be a good way to remember them and honor their contributions.
