There’s a new kid in town.
If you haven’t caught a Take Away Show over La Blogotheque, I suggest you do so immediately. Based out of Paris, La Blogotheque is famous for taking indie favorites (The Low Anthem, Bon Iver, Andrew Bird) and recording live acoustic videos in various locales around Paris (floating in pools, strolling about Parisian neighborhoods, riding in elevators, etc…) At the moment, they’re featuring Yann Thierson, perhaps best known for scoring the movie Amelie.
This is a great idea and one that a few savvy sites are latching on to. Draw us Lines, a young music blog based out of Pittsburgh, is one of the best. With pithy music reviews from all over the indie spectrum (though with a heavy dose of indie folk and Americana), the young blog has been growing by leaps and bounds. The newest gun in their arsenal is “Echo Chamber”, a live concert segment where a band goes acoustic in an intimate setting. Their first post features the indie folk band, Lohio (one of my personal favorites)
I’d say more, but the videos speak for themselves. Check out the stunning and understated “We’ll Hide Ourselves Underneath”, featuring air organ and an adorable hound dog:

You can also watch a sweet version of “Adelai” over at Draw us Lines. And if you feel moved by Lohio, they’re in their last week of a very promising Kickstarter campaign. .
