CHRIS HILLMAN was the pivotal member of THE BYRDS, and he has been at the center of things for decades, performing as one of the best, with the best. Chris claims some illustrious alma maters, including the FLYING BURRITO BROTHERS and the DESERT ROSE BAND. And In 1971, EMMYLOU HARRIS was discovered by Chris Hillman and RICK ROBERTS when Hillman brought another notable musician to hear her sing in a small club in the Washington D.C. area. That musician was GRAM PARSONS, and soon, Emmylou was atop the charts.
+
These days, CHRIS HILLMAN continues to headline at music festivals. Chris still keeps musical company with former band mate HERB PEDERSON, and he’s made occasional tours with RICHIE FURAY. Anyplace he performs, with or without anyone else, is a cause for excitement and rapt attention.

Recent shows at the Grammy Museum Sound Stage have SOLD-OUT.

THE FUTURE OF THE GUIDE…
.
As first reported yesterday: The future of the ACOUSTIC AMERICANA MUSIC GUIDE, slated to be announced Monday, May 17, is only partially settled. We will decide, by the end of May, if the Guide will continue to be published past the end of June. At this time, we are committing to continue publication only through the end of June. The final word on the fate of the Guide – whether or not it will continue in the tradition of the past eight years, and moved to, and expanded at, www.acousticmusic.net – will be decided and announced by the end on this month (May, 2010).
