Meet Vexine; the Richmond, Virginia band that is taking the world by storm. April 30th sees the group releasing their latest endeavor Little Sin (ZAP Records), a sexy Rock n’ Roll album that will have you on the edge of your seat. Bringing 11-tracks to life, Vexine delivers the good from start to finish. Vocalist Sarah Gleason’s voice resonates throughout each track stirring up a range of emotions. The title song, “Little Sin,” is sultry and seductive as it blissfully sets the tone for the record. Throughout the record your ears will be filled with an array of themes from darkness to fantasy, all with a driving musical force behind it all.
Vexine is Sarah Gleason (vocals), Paul Pearce (guitar, vocals), Michael Skiffington (bass) and Jorge Santamaria (drums). Combining forces, the band takes their sound out of Richmond and into the world. Pieces such as “Tantilla Gardens,” brings a haunting story element into the album, which holds a special place in Gleason’s heart. Standout tracks such as “Only One Left,” brings Pearce’s musical stylings to the table, with a brilliant zombie love story. On Little Sin the band also paid tribute to Elvis Costello by including a cover of “I Want You,” which in my opinion is perfectly crafted, paying homage, but adding Vexine’s personal flair.
Vexine’s Little Sin is a must have for 2016. Be ready to meet your new favorite band…
