Singer-songwriter (and cardiologist), Suzie Brown, released her fifth full-length, Sometimes Your Dreams Find You, in 2017. The latest track, “Give,” is an ode to Brown’ experience of becoming a mother and all the triumphs and setbacks that accompany it. Today, Brown shares the simple, yet striking, video for the song.
Brown relays the story behind the tune, “I have never felt so depleted and yet so fulfilled as I have since I became a mother. I wrote this song on a particularly tough day with one of my faves Mary Bragg. I had been up since about 4 AM and was just down to the nub. Yet I wouldn’t have traded that day for anything. I was exhausted and oddly content. We modeled the video after 70’s era TV show performances – the 1970’s being my favorite decade of music and the source of my most important influences.”
