Willie left us much too soon just over a year ago, leaving some amazing songs and memories of a man that while hugely talented in his own right, chose the sideman role to Fred Eaglesmith. He touched people with his music and his kind spirit all along his path. Blackie and the Rodeo Kings are a great band named for one of his songs and created initially to honour his music. If you don’t know this man’s music, you’d do well to seek it out.
