Ida Red
Well Swung, a Portland, Oregon based Swing band is about to release a new album of Swing/Honky-Tonk/Country originals and traditional covers later this winter, but for now, the band is giving us look at the classic Bob Wills tune, “Ida Red”. The band is a Portland favorite and a fixture at Portland’s finest honky tonk establishment, Landmark Saloon, where they host “Well Swung Monday” every 2nd Monday. Band spokesman, Jonathan Trawick said he adjusted the lyrics of Ida Red to fit the gig, which was filmed at the Landmark Saloon. “Well Swung” is Jon Trawick on guitar, Chris Olson on bass, Brian Foxworth on drums, Andy Emert,(former National Fiddle Champ) Ricky Selman and Aarun Carter(National Young Adult Fiddle Champ and five time Colorado State Champ) on fiddles. Hats off and right back on to Well Swung for keeping one of the “tap root” sub-genres of Roots Music alive.
The audio single will be released October 12th and will be available for download at CD Baby. Here’s a sneak peak of the video filmed by Kenny Lewis (KLEWS TV) as part of his “If You Dont Love It, Change It” national tour filming music videos in every state and documenting his journey.
