Steep Ravine – Adeline
Description from www.folkradio.co.uk: We have a video premiere today from San Francisco Bay Area acoustic folk and roots band Steep Ravine. Adeline is taken from their new album The Pedestrian which was recorded at John Vanderslice’s analog-based Tiny Telephone Studios.
There is a wider palette of influences at work on the new album from folk and jazz to bluegrass, pop and funk but their core strength, as can be clearly heard on Adeline, is in their finesse and arrangements. Jan Purat’s violin playing, Simon Linsteadt’s vocals and guitar, Alex Bice’s bass, and Jeff Wilson’s percussion giving it all just the right amount of lift combine in ways you’d expect from a band that has been playing together for over decade rather than the two years. It’s a sheer delight to hear.
