Whitehorse – “Tame As The Wild Ones”

Whitehorse decided to take the CBC Music crew on a field trip for the taping of their First Play Live session. The location wasn’t far afield, the Steamwhistle Roundhouse is just a few blocks away from the CBC Toronto headquarters on Front Street. The location is, a state-of-the-art brewery, a turn of the century train roundhouse and a fun place to visit when in Toronto. When greeted at the entrance you are always offered a sample of beer. The location was a great place to hold a concert and for Whitehorse to invite friends, family and CBC Music to hear the new material performed live for the first time. Gone are the simple trappings of a folk or blues duo of the past, Whitehorse surrounds themselves with all the toys needed to make a large sound. Drums, bass, guitar and a variety of percussion instruments are all at the ready. And with the help of some modern looping technology Whitehorse transforms simple loops in to massive soundscapes.
