Wakarusa, 2013 for The Experience of a Lifetime
I have been to music festivals of many different natures but there is something about Wakarusa. Wakarusa is a festival that everyone can enjoy and should experience at least once in their lifetime. During the day, you are surrounded by the Ozark Mountains, the Mulberry River, the silence of the forest, and yet the love of thousands of people all there to share the same experience. You can relax at your camp with friends or you can wander around and visit the great array of vendors and entertainment. You can take the journey (if you think you can hack it) down the mountainside and see a beautiful waterfall where you can find butterflies drinking and resting and a pool of water to jump into from the waterfall. You can also take the bus down to the Mulberry river and lay on the bank or take a dip to cool off and enjoy nature. You will meet people from so many places and different walks of life. Some of which you will never see again and some of which you will never forget. As the sun sets over the West mountain side, the air cools slowly and the vibe begins to change. The music seems louder and the beautiful people seem to have a new energy about them. You can chose any vibe that you want to be in from the Backwoods Stage for some great folk and blue grass, to the Main Stage for amazing headliners, to the always hopping Tents, to the RaGing Interstellar Meldown stage for an unbelievable EDM line up. For myself, I have a lot of difficult decisions to make. I love all music and I don’t want to miss a thing. So after dancing all afternoon, all evening, trying to find time to fit a meal in there somewhere, and then all night, you will see me walking back to my camp as the sun comes up with a huge smile on my face from the experience of a lifetime just in time to get some shut eye before it starts all over again in a few short hours. There is truely nothing like it.
