Like most small time artists, our budgets are pretty slim when it comes to things farming out things like booking shows, hiring PR agents and getting ahold of radio stations, and all that. It’s time vs. money right? Well, yesterday was a good one – Adela & I have Jun, Jul, Sept, Oct & Dec tour booking in progress – all at the same time.
Our strategies the past couple years is to book smaller 3rd tier towns, small places with a dedicated local clientele, always a good time for us and usually we’re the only band – allowing us to stretch out and play 3 hours – which we find we get better after the first 90 minutes.
As we push out toward the middle of the country, we’re finding great places to play, great club owners who are trying to build a scene in their neck of the woods. It’s a relationship building process – we have a growing network of places we play – that we can count on – and the new ones – we have a process that works really well for us to get our foot in the door.
Off to book some more shows – So we can travel this fine land over the summer…. We’ll be filming and sharing our “Americana Traveller” experiences here, there and everywhere.
