Win tickets to the Calgary Folk Festival
NOTE: This contest is now closed. Please stay tuned for the announcement of our winner.
The 2010 Calgary Folk Festival is scheduled for July 22-25, 2010, in Prince’s Island Park, Calgary. According to their website:
The Festival is Calgary’s largest, most prominent annual gathering of original, independent artists in a creative, multi-faceted artistic program that combines some of the finest: roots, world music, country, alternative, blues, funk, dub, bluegrass, celtic, traditional (and more) artists from our own backyard and the globe. From influential artists who began making music in the ‘60s and ‘70s to innovative artists whose music was created in the last decade, it’s an ear-opening journey into the heart and soul of the roots and evolution of the music we like to call folk.
The 2010 roster is still being leaked, but so far it will include performances from the Avett Brothers, Greg Brown, Mississippi Sheiks Tribute Project, St. Vincent, Ian Tyson, Roberta Flack, and a number of other great artists. (Check out the full lineup.)
We’re teaming up with the fine folks there to give a lucky ND community member a trip to the festival, where they’ll be our on-site blogger for the duration. Included in this covetable prize package is:
Press pass to all four days of the festival
Three-four nights lodging at the Westin Hotel
Access to press tent
Access to side stage viewing area
Access to artist for interviews
Invite to VIP after parties
To enter, create a blog post on this site to talk about any of the artists on the Calgary lineup or an experience you’ve had at this festival in the past. You are welcome to enter more than once, but make sure the title of your blog post(s) includes the phrase “Calgary Folk Festival” so that we can know it’s an entry in this contest. You must be able to actually attend this festival, as you’ll be expected to blog about your experience, to share it with the community. (Transportation is not included, and will be your responsibility if you win.)
All blog post entries must be created on this site. Links to exterior blogs or articles will not be considered. To create a blog post on this site, click on “Blogs” in the top nav, then “Add a blog post.” Fill in the text fields, and click “Publish Post.” The community manager will automatically see all blog posts that have been created, so there’s no need to alert us to your entry. All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. PST on May 18, 2010. Go forth and blog! And good luck!
