Yamaha announces new product that will eliminate…you!
Over in Chiba, Japan yesterday at the CEATEC 2009 convention, Yamaha showed off its prototype HRP-4C robot, which can show a range of motions, strut down a catwalk, and now belt out tunes from a preselected list. During the demonstration Tuesday, audience members were encouraged to use their iPhones to request one of six songs from the raven-haired robot, decked out in futuristic stormtrooper gear. The winning track is titled “Give Me Wings.”
The implications are huge, especially for touring bands such as U2. Imagine having Bono perform not only in multiple concert venues thought the world at the same time but if you can afford it, he can show up and sing at your next Tupperware party.
Other new product lines introduced yesterday included a two-screen laptop and a solar powered cell phone. I wonder what you do if you need to make a call after sunset?
